The QIC Carrier boards are designed with the experimenter in mind. Designed to include
the most common features required of projects, the carrier board simplifies development
time and reduces design errors. Mating with a QIC Core, the carrier board reduces the
design cycle by eliminating the need to design standard circuitry.
The QIC Carrier Board V2 is ideally suited for use in mobile robotics and other applications
where only a single supply is provided. With its built in +5 volt regulator, the board can easilly
be powered from a 12 volt battery.
With the onboard encoder interface ICs, and the motor driver outputs, the Carrier V2 is ideal
for use in high pricision robotics control. Encoders can be read in quadrature mode to provide
a high degree of accuracy.
Additional support for controlling external devices is provided by the low-current drivers,
capable of sinking / sourcing up to 500mA of current.
A vast array of accessories an d devices can be connected to the Carrier V2 by means of its
communications bus designed to interface to other peripheral ICs. In addtion, its digital I/O
interface provides an additional 24 lines of digital inputs and outputs.
Coupled with a QIC Core, the feature set provided to the experimenter provides all the basics
required for mobile robot, or any other application you can imagine.
